You don’t just stumble upon diamonds
You mine them
You don’t just mine those diamonds
You refine them.

Though maybe rough around the edges
Their existence is beautiful
And your reflection within them
We hope, is beautiful too.

With sincere eyes
We’ll gaze at hope
With humble hearts
In love…
We’ll say, “I do.”

With butterflies within our stomachs
We’ll dance, toast, and celebrate
Something new. Something new.

Because they’ve settled, a few may meddle
Because they’ve lost hope, a few may resent
But hold onto prayer and run towards forgiveness
And look forward to the day that they all repent.

For no one writes a better story than “The Man Upstairs”
And no one has a better plan than God himself
My precious princess, I have cut and prepared you for my prince

Resilient woman, how fine you are,
Taking out those knives drove in so far.
Resilient woman…so quiet, so gentle,
Never would have guessed that you could have went mental.

Resilient woman, How’d you get through?
Teach us, and pray for us, while we all pray for you.
Resilient woman, don’t give up now,
And don’t look back while your hand is on that plow.

Resilient woman, keep that smile,
Shine that light, this is all worthwhile.
Resilient woman, dry your eyes,
For this is all a blessing in disguise.

Resilient woman, don’t forget your praise;
A precious garment and weapon for all your days.
Resilient woman, keep your head held high,
And please don’t let it drop for just any ‘ol guy.

Fix your gaze. #focus

The world we’re living in is crazy, and by crazy I don’t just mean Trump in America. We’re in perilous times. As I sit here and reflect on the rough day that I had yesterday, I’m thankful to the Lifter up of my head and my friends and family to remind me where to look.

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. – Psalm 121:1&2 (ESV)

I chose to rejoice and be glad yesterday. I chose to recount my blessings and be grateful for what I know could be so much worse. It’s easy to get distracted by our circumstances and let our emotions take a roller coaster ride. We don’t have to stay there. We can hop off at any moment. God has given us the freedom and strength to fix our gaze on Him instead.

What if America could no longer rubberneck? What if the tragedies that are so prevalent in other countries were suddenly sweeping our states and dividing like never before? We’re getting there, but FEAR NOT.

It makes me think of how crucial it is that we learn how to fix our gaze on God, now.  That we pass tests, now. That we’re faithful in the small, now. It is crucial that we fall madly in love with the One who first loved us, now. That we become mesmerized by His beauty, NOW! The peace the world gives, my friend, is not everlasting. No matter what, take heart! Don’t you dare turn your head. Keep looking straight ahead at our Prince of Peace who has overcome the world. For when your eyes are on Christ…when the world fails you, you will not fail with it.

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. – John 16:33 (NIV)

My heart grieves,
as this nation falls
for it no longer heeds
God’s righteous calls.

It has all but turned,
away from His grace
our leaders no longer
seek His divine face.

Man has succeeded,
to remove God’s laws
I grieve for a nation
now in Satan’s claws.

We’ve come a long way,
in a very short span . . .
went from in God we trust
to ~ we don’t give a damn.

My heart grieves,
for this country’s fallen soul
but, I know God still . . .
can heal and make it whole!

Lord, create in me a clean heart,
remove the effects of sin
dissolve the worldly pollution
it has been degenerating in.

Treat the sickness of evil,
on Your Word let me feed
till every commandment
I earnestly start to heed.

Give me a heart spotless,
remove damnation’s crust
eradicate the remains
of lingering greed and lust.

Heal my spiritual apathy,
cure the horrible disease
of indifference and idleness
till I no longer do as I please.

Lord, create in me a clean heart,
remove sin’s stubborn stain
let me keep Your every Word
so in You, I’ll always remain!

thus spoke

She’s a doll
she’s a beauty
not one to be wooed
by five pounds of make-up
and false thoughts construed

by

the meek,
nor
the fearful,
she sees past those false faces
she’s felt the sting of suffering
and won’t revisit those places.

She admonishes the posers
who act sly
and
talk cheap;
approach her with honesty
if you wish her to speak.

Yes:

she does impart wisdom
but she won’t hide her spark
she’s a beauty
she’s a star
and she protects
her heart.

I’ve never used the “reblog” option before but I thought Jacqueline’s post was awesome and timely for what I’m encountering in my life. With her permission I will hopefully create a post based on my own realization of a familiar “Lot” in my life that I’m having difficulty being separated from. Grateful for this post. Healing For The Nation

The mind is a very wonderful and  fascinating invention. With it, one can paint pictures as if on a canvas, simply by activating it. It can transport us forward in time, to a futuristic scene, in which we have accomplished the end product of our thoughts. Meaning we have the power of vision. The ability to dream. It can take us back into the past. Allowing us in our minds, to replay scenes in our lives, making the outcome exactly what we would have done, if we had it to do all over again. Simply put, it is a shiny example of the ingenuity and omniscience, of a very intelligent, and powerful creator.

God equipped man with the ability to use his mind, to catapult himself forward on his journey through life. If one is to achieve anything in life, it will be with the aid of the creative mind and thinking of…
