#Renew You.

Where do I begin?

As usual, my heart is full of gratitude. I’m realizing I’m normally in the mood to write when it is…desiring to get it out somehow, to explain somehow…just what it is that I am feeling…SOMEHOW.

I used to fall asleep to this song “Chasing After You (Morning Song)” by Tye Tribbett. I’d put the volume low and loop it all night. That, and this song by an artist named Javen (he used a lot of scriptures in that particular song – the name slips my mind at the moment). Anyway, they were good choices to allow into my spirit, and I highly recommend you be mindful of what you allow in.

We’re a busy people, I get that, and sometimes our minds work harder than they should and lack much needed rest. Trust, I’m a thinker…I know.

It’s interesting that I’m writing about this today. Continuing to write about this actually (It’s been sitting in the “draft” bucket for nearly a month). Timing is everything. This morning I received an e-mail from my mother about the importance of renewing our minds. First off, I’d just like to thank God and shout out that I am truly a blessed woman to have had such an example of a Godly woman in my life. She is a Proverbs 31 woman all the way, and I would like to think she raised a Proverbs 31 woman as well. But yes, I agree with her about the importance of taking out time to renew our minds. The bible tells us to…not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. – Romans 12:2

re·new /riˈn(y)o͞o/

Verb: Resume (an activity) after an interruption.
Reestablish (a relationship).

You know how you take a shower? Brush your teeth? Drink something to quench your thirst? Yea, go ahead and throw “renew mind” up in the mix somewhere. Baby steps.

You know why me and my mom were on the same page? ’cause we’re in sync. You know why we’re in sync? Because the same spirit of God living and active within my little mommy is living and active within me. God’s spirit is the same everywhere. Knowing that makes things easy. Knowledge is great, but if you think about it, if every pastor out there preaching is spirit led (vs. just knowledge led) and submits unto the Holy Spirit when ministering to God’s people, what he or she speaks of should coincide with every spirit and heart, taught in any church, home, or basement. Now that’s some good food! It should coincide with the spirit-realm and heaven altogether. Spirit led people go through a lot of things at the same time for that very reason. But yea, we’ll dig into this another time, maybe. So…

There’s this prayer that I often pray over myself in the morning to renew my mind and begin my day. Like I said, we’re a busy people, right? Well I play a recording of my voice praying a prayer to renew my mind over myself. I also have one for peaceful sleep. It’s in third person but that’s certainly not necessary. I believe that our God-given authority equips us to heed our own voice and we do it unconsciously. Might as well do it consciously too *shrugs shoulders*. Anyway, I think it’s an awesome idea that I can’t take credit for. My Daddy (God) gave it to me. You should give it a try. It is from one of my favoooorite prayer tools/books called: Prayers That Avail Much by Germaine Copeland…Omgosh, you definitely have to cop this! It will be an investment in your lives and others. TRUST! Downloaded it to my kindle app too?!…shoot, can’t tell me nothin…you think I’m textin’ 😉 Ok, let’s be honest, I probably am. Ha, but you get me. TTYL motha lovas 🙂
